Translate Vimeo subtitles.
Vimeo accepts caption files per language on every plan and shows a CC menu to viewers. It also powers many course and corporate video sites, where translated captions are often a compliance requirement.
Drop subtitle files here
or click to choose · SRT, VTT, SBV, ASS/SSA, SMI · up to 20 files
First file free (up to 150 cues). 1 credit = 1 file × 1 language.
Formats: VTT · SRT · DFXP · SCC. Drop the file below, choose the languages, download. Nothing is uploaded — the file is parsed in your browser.
Where to get the Vimeo subtitle file
Video settings → Distribution → Subtitles → download the existing file (VTT recommended). If you used Vimeo's auto-captions, download and correct them first.
How to use the translated file
Subtitles → + → choose the language and type → upload the translated .vtt or .srt → toggle it on. Repeat per language. Vimeo re-encodes nothing; the file is used as is.
Tip
Vimeo prefers WebVTT. Translate the VTT directly — cue settings and the header are preserved — so you do not need to convert afterwards.
