Korean has formal (존댓말) and casual (반말) registers that must stay consistent through a whole video. Choose the register once and it is applied to every cue; CJK lines are kept under about 20 characters.

English subtitles are the gateway to the widest audience and to YouTube search in English. We keep lines under 42 characters and split at phrase boundaries so they never overflow.
